THE FOUR CARDINAL POINTS<br />

As the Four Cardinal Points are brought into<br />

prominence in the various <strong>Masonic</strong> Degrees, and<br />

as many very erroneous ideas exist as to the origin<br />

and meaning <strong>of</strong> what is taught with regard to<br />

them, their real origin, meaning, interpretation,<br />

and symbolisms will be <strong>of</strong> interest here.<br />

<strong>The</strong> full explanation necessitates reference to<br />

some <strong>of</strong> the decipherments I have already given<br />

to prove the association <strong>of</strong> the progressive evolu-<br />

tions <strong>of</strong> the human race, with regard to the Four<br />

Cardinal Points. <strong>The</strong> Old Mystery Teachers <strong>of</strong><br />

Egypt mapped out, or divided, the Heavens first<br />

into two divisions, South and North. <strong>The</strong><br />

being the two Pole Stars, resting on the<br />

Horizons, as seen in the centre <strong>of</strong> Africa, " Points<br />

which never changed with time," represented symbolically<br />

as Set and Horus, Twins <strong>of</strong> the Great<br />

Mother, " the Two Primary Gods," symbolized by<br />

two Poles or Pillars or two Eyes, and sometimes<br />

by two Circles. <strong>The</strong>se also represented Light and<br />
