the Spirits <strong>of</strong> the Four Corners, or Cardinal<br />

Points, with whom his fold was founded (Ritual,<br />

ch. 97). <strong>The</strong>se four being added to the three<br />

Primary made up the Seven Great Spirits <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Stellar Cult, called the " Khuti " or " Glorious<br />

Ones." <strong>The</strong>se seven were symbolized as<br />

(1) Sebek-Horus, the Crocodile ; (2) Set, the<br />

Water Bull ; (3) Shu, the Lion ; (4) Hapi, the<br />

Ape ; (5) Tuamutef, the Jackal ; (6) Kabhsenuf,<br />

the Hawk ; (7) Amsta, the Man. Thus we have<br />

the three Primary in the Triangle and four in<br />

the Square = the Seven Great Spirits <strong>of</strong> Heaven<br />

and Earth. <strong>The</strong> new Heaven was thus estab-<br />

lished on the Four Quarters that were founded<br />

upon the solstices and equinoxes, and<br />

<strong>The</strong>se four (1) Hapi, (2) Tuamutef, (3)<br />

Kabhsenuf, and (4) Amsta, were stationed at the<br />

Four Cardinal Points.<br />

As Egyptian, they are four Great Spirits at the<br />

four corners <strong>of</strong> the Mount <strong>of</strong> Heaven, and in<br />

Revelation they are the " four angels standing at<br />

the four corners <strong>of</strong> the Earth, holding<br />

the four<br />

winds <strong>of</strong> the Earth (Rev. vii. 1). (See later<br />

representation in Calendar wheel <strong>of</strong> Duran.) <strong>The</strong><br />

Kamite Four, reproduced in Revelation as the<br />

four living creatures— the first creature like a<br />

Lion, the second like a Calf, the third had the<br />

head <strong>of</strong> a Man, and the fourth creature like a<br />

flying Eagle (Rev. iv. 7)— these four, under
