These Sacred Mysteries were the same amongst
the priests of the Mayas, and in Central and
South America, the Druids, and the priests of
Egypt, and the same as we practise. The simi-
larity of the rites practised
in the initiation and
other ceremonies, the identity of the signs, symbols,
and tokens, proves that all these had been communicated
from one to another, from one centre
of origin. Only in Old Egypt can we find that
origin ; it is all there.
And although in the so-called Higher Degrees
we have professedly Christian doctrines, yet any
