SOME MASONIC SIGNS AND SYMBOLS<br />

A Lecture delivered before the Hendre Lodge, No. 3250, at the<br />

<strong>Masonic</strong> Temple, Cardiff, 24M April, 1913.<br />

Wales, in conjunction with the West <strong>of</strong> England,<br />

Devon and Cornwall, is particularly rich in possessing<br />

remains <strong>of</strong> old Temples and stones, on<br />

which many Signs and Symbols are still extant, and<br />

can be seen ; hence you will recognize<br />

that here<br />

you possess objective pro<strong>of</strong>s, and are therefore<br />

able the better to appreciate and follow me than<br />

many other Brothers who are not so rich in the<br />

possession <strong>of</strong> Sacred Symbols. I always feel a<br />

pleasure in giving information upon the origin<br />

and meaning <strong>of</strong> all our Signs and Symbols and<br />

Rituals, as without a knowledge<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Astro-<br />

Mythology and Eschatology <strong>of</strong> old Egypt<br />

it is<br />

impossible to decipher and find the true interpre-<br />

tation <strong>of</strong> these Signs and Symbols.<br />

To understand the meaning and origin <strong>of</strong> these<br />

we have to go back and return again by the road<br />

we came, far away back, six hundred thousand<br />
