Conclusion<br />

In conclusion, this example of a blended learn<strong>in</strong>g course may serve as a suitable<br />

model for other <strong>in</strong>dustry-based ESP courses where learners need to develop specific<br />

language competencies. The use of onl<strong>in</strong>e delivery <strong>in</strong>corporates self-paced learn<strong>in</strong>g<br />

that enables flexibility <strong>and</strong> does not disrupt the learners’ work rout<strong>in</strong>es, which is a<br />

key concern for the aviation <strong>in</strong>dustry. The course provides targeted <strong>English</strong> language<br />

<strong>in</strong>put <strong>and</strong> practice, as well as check activities that are recorded <strong>and</strong> subsequently<br />

assessed. Regular tutorials with the course <strong>in</strong>structor provide formative feedback<br />

<strong>and</strong> direction for subsequent engagement with the course materials. Although<br />
