Local Range: Other Urban or Built-up Land is mapped at Yorktown Battlefield, Colonial
Parkway in the vicinity of Williamsburg, Jamestown Island, and Swanns Point.
Classification Comments: Other Urban or Built-up Land includes areas with buildings or
structures associated with park maintenance, recreation, or historic interpretation, as well as
urban parks, golf courses, cemeteries, and water control structures (e.g. spillways, riprap). This
map class includes all buildings, walkways, minor roads, and their associated lawns and
vegetation. This map class is equal to the Anderson et al. (1976) Level II unit 17, Other Urban or
Built-up Land.
