USGS-NPS Vegetation Mapping Program Colonial National Historical Park COMMON NAME (PARK-SPECIFIC): WATER SYNONYMS USNVC English Name: Not applicable USNVC Scientific Name: Not applicable USNVC Identifier: Not applicable LOCAL INFORMATION Local Range: Water is mapped in the vicinity of Yorktown Battlefield at Wormley Pond, along Colonial Parkway where the park boundary crosses the York River and its tributaries, at College Creek / Kingsmill where the park boundary includes portions of College Creek, the tidal creeks at Jamestown Island, and at Swanns Point where the park boundary includes portions of the James River. Classification Comments: This map class includes large areas of open water within the boundary of Colonial National Historic Park. This map class is equal to the Anderson (1976) Level II units 54, Bays and Estuaries; 53, Reservoirs; and 51, Streams and Canals. Local Description Authors: K. D. Patterson. Plots: None.
