9. Annex<br />

9.1 Laws and regulations <strong>in</strong> chronological order<br />

In this section laws and regulations are grouped accord<strong>in</strong>g to years. For each<br />

year, entries are listed with Arabic numbers <strong>in</strong> ascend<strong>in</strong>g chronological<br />

order based on the date of promulgation. The official number of each law<br />

and regulation is given <strong>in</strong> its title (roman numerals for Acts and Arabic numbers<br />

for Decrees and Resolutions). The date of promulgation is also <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> each<br />

title, so <strong>in</strong>dicated for Acts and <strong>in</strong> a parenthesis which <strong>in</strong>cludes the month <strong>in</strong><br />

roman and the day <strong>in</strong> arabic numerals for Decrees and Resolutions. When more<br />

than one regulation need to be considered together and are grouped <strong>in</strong> one entry,<br />

this is ordered based on the earliest promulgation date. In most cases, some<br />

content is highlighted <strong>in</strong> bullet po<strong>in</strong>ts, but these are by no means exhaustive.<br />

Laws and regulations are published <strong>in</strong> the Hungarian Gazette (“Magyar<br />

Közlöny”), which is available only <strong>in</strong> Hungarian. All effective laws and<br />

regulations are also available <strong>in</strong> electronic format <strong>in</strong> Hungarian (CD database<br />

published monthly by KJK–Kerszöv, Budapest). Certa<strong>in</strong> health related laws<br />

and regulations are available <strong>in</strong> English on the web-site of the M<strong>in</strong>istry of<br />

National Resources.<br />

1949<br />

1. Act XX of 1949 on the Constitution of the People’s Republic of <strong>Hungary</strong><br />

(adopted 20/08/1949)<br />

1950<br />

● establishes the communist dictatorship <strong>in</strong> <strong>Hungary</strong>.<br />

1. Council of M<strong>in</strong>isters Decree No. 139/1950. (V. 14.) on health care provision for the<br />

workers<br />

● determ<strong>in</strong>es that the provision of health care services is state responsibility (Article 1)<br />

● nationalizes the providers of the <strong>Health</strong> and Sickness Insurance Institutions (Article 3,<br />

Section 3).<br />
