Controller States and Behaviors Remanent Variables Remanent Variables Remanent variables can retain their values in the event of power outages, reboots, resets, and application program downloads. There are multiple types of remanent variables, declared individually as "retain" or "persistent", or in combination as "retain-persistent". Remanent variables are retained only if the battery (see <strong>M238</strong> Logic Controller, Hardware Guide) is sufficient. NOTE: For this controller, variables declared as persistent have the same behavior as variables declared as retain-persistent. The other %MW are managed as VAR.
