He conquered Toli-Toli, Kaili. It was only Boné that was not conquered,<br />

from Pekang Laqbu above to Topeaja in the north. 73 For six years 74 he struggled<br />

with the people of Boné then died.<br />

He died of illness, sick so that he could not swallow food. Hampered<br />

<strong>and</strong> indeed in great difficulty, he journeyed into Papolong <strong>and</strong> inside its fort<br />

became much worse <strong>and</strong> expired. Informed of this, Karaeng Tumamenang<br />

ri Makkoayang went <strong>and</strong> invited his sibling [Tunibatta] to come forth. He<br />

agreed <strong>and</strong> was brought forth. After forty-eight nights in his house he<br />

[Tunipalangga] died. 75<br />

He had three wives. Balu Maqlonjoka was his main wife, his first cousin<br />

twice over <strong>and</strong> his niece, as she was the child of his second cousin. Balu<br />

Maqlonjoka was the child of Tunipasuruq by Karaeng Makeboka. Her royal<br />

name was I Daeng Ningai. They had four children: [two sons], two daughters.<br />

Another of his wives was called Karaeng ri Biliq Tanngaya. She was the<br />

child of Karaeng Loe ri Katingang. An anaq karaeng of one from Anaq Sappu<br />

was her mother. She was the elder sibling 76 of Karaeng I Waraq. They had<br />

only one daughter. Another of his wives was Karaeng ri Suppaq. Called<br />

Datuq ri Bali, they had no children.<br />

Tunipalangga had no grown sons when he died, so it was his sibling who<br />

inherited power.<br />

He was the karaeng who first issued frequent summons for corvee labor,<br />

was greatly renowned, very crafty in war. This karaeng was not praised as<br />

just, knowledgable, a great worker. He was only said to be wise, wealthy, a<br />

very brave person. 77<br />

Tunipalangga, before he ruled, ran off with Balu Maqlonjoka, angering<br />

Tunipasuruq. He set against each other the people of Talloq, the people<br />

of Gowa. The child of Tunipalangga by Balu Maqlonjoka was Karaeng ri<br />

Lakiung 78 whose personal name was I Ranti Patola, whose bissu-name was<br />

I Bale (as for his death, he was hacked to death. He was called Tunipongko<br />

ri Biliqna). 79<br />

[30v] When she first took a husb<strong>and</strong>, the ruler married her. They had<br />

children: Karaeng ri Tamamaqring; 80 a daughter named I Sugi Ratu, her royal<br />

name was I Daeng Situju. She had children: I Daeng Tubengo; I Daeng Sepe.<br />

Another child was a son named Karaeng ri Anaq Gowa. His personal name<br />

was I Tariawang. After just ten years he died, died of measles. 81 Another child<br />

was a daughter named I Rieangi, the mother of I Tambaq. 82 Her karaeng-title<br />

was Karaeng ri Ujung Loe. Her personal name was I Bayu. Another child was<br />

a daughter named I Daeng Sannging. She was married by Karaeng ri Ujung.<br />

They had one daughter. She was married by Karaeng ri Betang. They had a<br />

child: the mother of I Daeng Ngago. 83 Another child was a daughter named<br />

Karaeng ri Bone. Her personal name was I Lotong.<br />

She [Balu Maqlonjoka] was married by Karaeng Tunijalloq. She adopted
