III The Gowa chronicle 37<br />

A child of Karaeng ri Jamarang named I Daeng Mangkasaraq, she was<br />

married by Karaeng Tunibatta. Upon her marriage down 88 here in Gowa,<br />

she was granted by her father all of Kanjilo. She was the mother of 89 Karaeng<br />

Tunijalloq <strong>and</strong> the mother of Karaeng Mapeqdaka. Her karaeng-title was<br />

Karaeng ri Bontotanga. Her personal name was I Tamakeboq. Her royal<br />

name was I Daeng Makkeqnang. 90 Another child was named I Biasa, who<br />

had no children.<br />

Karaeng Mapeqdaka, she had children: Karaeng ri Sanrabone; 91 Karaeng<br />

ri Kasuarrang; Karaeng ri Bambangang; the father of I Daeng Manggappa,<br />

Tumatea ri Joroq; 92 the father of Karaeng ri Tompoqbalang; the father of<br />

Karaeng ri Ujung P<strong>and</strong>ang; the father of Karaeng ri Balang Baru; plus many<br />

other children whom we do not name.<br />

Karaeng Bisei married the daughter of Gallarrang Lampa Saile. They had<br />

one daughter. She went over to Surabaya. 93<br />

Karaeng Tunibatta then married again a child of Tunipasuruq by a<br />

woman from Maros, a full sibling of Tumamenanga ri Makkoayang named<br />

Karaeng ri Barung Patola. They [had two children: one girl, one boy. The<br />

girl married] 94 up in Campagaya <strong>and</strong> had a child, the mother of I Mata.<br />

Their other child was a son named I Andaga. His karaeng-title was Karaeng<br />

ri Ujung. His royal name was I Daeng Mannyauruq. He married a daughter<br />

of Tunipalangga named I Daeng. They had a child, the mother of I Kopu. He<br />

married a gallarrang of the people of Tomboloq. They had a child, Karaeng<br />

ri Pattungang.<br />

Karaeng ri Barung Patola died. He married again her younger sister. She<br />

was the mother of Karaeng ri Dataq. The royal name of Karaeng ri Dataq was<br />

I Daeng Marinyo. His personal name was I Karisa. He never married among<br />

his own. 95 Only the child of a metalworker did he marry. They had children:<br />

Karaeng ri Katapang <strong>and</strong> siblings.<br />

There was a slave of one from Parigi whom he married. They had children:<br />

I Jamo <strong>and</strong> I Daeng Makanang.<br />

Another slave of one from Kalli-Kalli he married. They had a child: I Kare<br />

Kontu. He married one from Galesong named I Tappo.<br />

At Tunipalangga’s death, [29v] Balu Maqlonjoka was married again by<br />

another child of I Tunipasuruq. The women of Gowa called her Karaeng<br />

Makeboka. 96<br />

This karaeng, his rule was not praised. It was only said he diligently<br />

planted rice <strong>and</strong> was lucky at gambling.<br />

Section 6: Tunijalloq<br />

This child of Tunibatta, Tunijalloq, succeeded as ruler. His personal name,<br />

may I not be cursed, was I Manggorai. His royal name was I Daeng Mammeta.
