At portage, L975, the first increment <strong>of</strong> N gave the heaviest kernels, but in this test there rvas a slgnificant deerease in kernel weight at the hÍgher N levels. At Sanford 19?6, there was a progreesive deerease in kernel weight as N was increased above the ccntrol leve 1. At all sitesn the talls had signíficantly heavier kerne'ls than did the semi-dwarts (fabte Zt¡).
