National <strong>Power</strong> Training Institute, an ISO<br />

9001:2000 Organisation is a National Apex<br />

Body set up as a registered society under<br />

the <strong>Ministry</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Power</strong>, for development <strong>of</strong><br />

Human Resources for the <strong>Power</strong> Sector. With<br />

the main Institute at Faridabad (Haryana), NPTI<br />

operates on all India basis through its<br />

Regional Institutes located at Neyveli (Tamil<br />

Nadu), Durgapur (West Bengal), Badarpur<br />

(Delhi), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Guwahati<br />

(Assam) besides <strong>Power</strong> Systems Training<br />

Institute (PSTI) & Hot Line Training Centre<br />

(HLTC) at Bangalore. The Institute has a<br />

Centre for Advanced Management and <strong>Power</strong><br />

Studies (CAMPS) and a proposed Hydro<br />

Training Unit at Faridabad.<br />

NPTI has excellent infrastructural facilities for<br />

conducting different courses on technical as<br />

well as management subjects catering to the<br />

needs <strong>of</strong> Thermal, Hydro, Nuclear <strong>Power</strong><br />

Plants, Transmission & Distribution systems<br />

as well as other fields <strong>of</strong> the Indian <strong>Power</strong><br />

and allied Energy sectors. It has over 38<br />

years <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional expertise in the field <strong>of</strong><br />

education, training and HRD.<br />

Since its inception, NPTI has shared its<br />

engineering and technology expertise with more<br />

than 80,000 <strong>Power</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals besides over<br />

66,000 persons in its mass education programs<br />

on Energy Conservation, <strong>Power</strong> Reforms,<br />

Electrical Safety, Energy-Environment interface<br />

across the country. NPTI launched the First<br />

Ever two-year MBA program in <strong>Power</strong><br />

Management in 2002. All the students <strong>of</strong> the<br />

first batch <strong>of</strong> this programme were picked up<br />

through campus recruitment by renowned<br />

companies.<br />

The Institute recorded an all time high revenue<br />

receipts <strong>of</strong> Rs.10.20 crores (unaudited) in the<br />

year 2003-04. The number <strong>of</strong> trainees crossed<br />

ten thousand mark and the trainee weeks<br />

achieved was 64308 including 7004 trainee weeks
