Rs. 70.20Crs., Assam Gas Based <strong>Power</strong> Project<br />

is Rs. 364.87Crs., Agartala Gas Turbine Project<br />

is Rs. 133.98Crs., Doyang H.E. Project is<br />

Rs.32.66Crs., Ranganadi H.E Project is<br />

Rs.170.81Crs. and UI Charges (Net) is<br />

Rs.24.58Crs.<br />

2. PROJECTS UNDER EXECUTION<br />

i) TUIRIAL H.E. PROJECT (60 MW) -<br />

MIZORAM: The Tuirial H.E. Project in<br />

Mizoram is located in the Border <strong>of</strong> Cachar<br />

District <strong>of</strong> Assam and Aizwal District <strong>of</strong><br />

Mizoram and envisages construction <strong>of</strong> a<br />

77 M high Homogenous Earth fill Dam<br />

across the Tuirial river with an installed<br />

capacity <strong>of</strong> 2 x 30 MW, surface <strong>Power</strong><br />

House on the left bank <strong>of</strong> the river. The<br />

cost <strong>of</strong> the Project at June’ 97 price level is<br />

Rs. 368.72Crs.(including IDC) and completion<br />

cost <strong>of</strong> the Project is Rs.448.19Crs. at Jan<br />

’97 price level. The project has been taken<br />

up as a Central Sector Scheme under loan<br />

assistance <strong>of</strong> JBIC, Japan with 85% <strong>of</strong> the<br />

project cost being financed under JBIC loan<br />

assistance and balance 15% from Govt. <strong>of</strong><br />

India’s assistance. The infrastructural work<br />

for the project has been completed. All 5<br />

(five) Packages have been awarded and work<br />

<strong>of</strong> the project is in progress. Land<br />

acquisition for the project area is completed<br />

and for submergence area is in progress.<br />

KAMENG H.E. PROJECT (600 MW) -<br />

ARUNACHAL PRADESH: The proposed<br />

Kameng H.E. Project is located in the West<br />

Kameng district <strong>of</strong> Arunachal Pradesh. The<br />

project comprises <strong>of</strong> construction <strong>of</strong> a 96.50<br />

M. high concrete gravity Dam across the<br />

river Bichom and diverting the water through<br />

a 6.70 M. dia., 8.75 km long Tunnel to<br />

Tenga reservoir created by constructing a<br />

60.50 M. high concrete gravity Dam across<br />

the Tenga river. Water <strong>of</strong> both these rivers<br />

is proposed to be taken through a 7.0 M.<br />

dia, 5.86 km long HRT to Kimi <strong>Power</strong> House<br />

with an installed capacity <strong>of</strong> 4 x 150 MW =<br />

600 MW. Infrastructure works under 2nd Stage are nearing completion and 432.56<br />

Ha <strong>of</strong> land has been acquired by NEEPCO.<br />

Pre- PIB meeting for investment decision<br />

was held on 6.10.2003 and the PIB note<br />

was circulated. Tender for all Packages have<br />

been floated. Techno - Commercial Bids <strong>of</strong><br />

Package – I, II & III were opened on<br />

30.01.04 and evaluation completed. Price Bid<br />

shall be opened on 08.04.04. Techno -<br />

Commercial Bids <strong>of</strong> Packages – IV & V<br />

were opened on 27.02.04 and evaluation is<br />

under progress. Award <strong>of</strong> work is in process<br />

and construction activities for the plant will<br />

start immediately after obtaining CCEA<br />

clearance.<br />

iii) TRIPURA GAS TURBINE POWER<br />

PROJECT (280MW) - TRIPURA: Tripura<br />

Gas Turbine Project is located at Manarchak<br />

in Tripura and its phased capacity will<br />

depend on availability <strong>of</strong> gas. Techno –<br />

Economic clearance from CEA has been<br />

obtained on 25.04.03. All statutory and nonstatutory<br />

clearances, including MOEF<br />

clearances, have been obtained. Pre – PIB<br />

meeting was held on 20.06.03 and the<br />

project is posed for PIB clearance. The<br />

consultancy works <strong>of</strong> the project has been<br />

awarded to CEA and MOU for the same<br />

signed on 08.10.03. PTC shall trade the<br />

power outside NE Region and the States <strong>of</strong><br />

Tripura, Assam, Punjab and Haryana have<br />

given their consent letters for taking power<br />

from the project. NIT for EPC contract was<br />

floated on 06.11.03 and the same will be<br />

opened on 30.04.04. 80.735 Ha <strong>of</strong> land has<br />

already acquired for the project by NEEPCO.<br />

Evacuation <strong>of</strong> power from this project is<br />

being finalised by PGCI. Bilateral power<br />

trading agreement between PGCIL &<br />
