having an aggregate capacity <strong>of</strong> 10318 MW were identified to be undertaken under Phase-II programme<br />

till the end <strong>of</strong> Xth Plan to accrue a benefit <strong>of</strong> 3684.91 MW.<br />

c) National Perspective Plan:<br />

National Perspective Plan was formulated by CEA in the year 2000 including R&M proposals under<br />

Phase-II alongwith the left out schemes <strong>of</strong> National Committee (Phase-I) under implementation/ yet<br />

to be implemented. This Plan indicated the benefit <strong>of</strong> about 7755 MW during the IXth, Xth and<br />

XIth Plan through R&M <strong>of</strong> existing 117 schemes with an aggregate installed capacity <strong>of</strong> 19370 MW<br />

at an estimated cost <strong>of</strong> Rs.4654 crores.<br />

d) Revised Xth & XIth Plan Programme:<br />

The schemes identified by CEA under National Perspective Plan and not completed till the beginning<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Xth Plan were reviewed in totality in consultation with the utilities and a total <strong>of</strong> 74 schemes<br />

(11 schemes under the Central Sector and 63 schemes under State Sector) having a total installed<br />

capacity <strong>of</strong> 8082.45 MW to accrue a benefit <strong>of</strong> 2446.87 MW at an estimated cost <strong>of</strong> Rs.2712.237<br />

Crores were identified for renovation, modernization and uprating during the Xth Plan and presently<br />

the schemes are under various stages <strong>of</strong> implementation. Further 31 schemes (2 schemes under<br />

Central Sector and 29 schemes under State Sector) having a total installed capacity <strong>of</strong> 4681 MW to<br />

accrue a benefit <strong>of</strong> 4415.10 MW at an estimated cost <strong>of</strong> Rs.2168.61 Crores were identified for<br />

RM&U during the XIth Plan.<br />

The following 3 State Sector schemes to<br />

accrue a benefit <strong>of</strong> 94.30 MW having an<br />

installed capacity <strong>of</strong> 94.30 MW at an<br />

estimated cost <strong>of</strong> Rs.148.67 Crores have<br />

been completed during the period 01-01-2003<br />

to 31-03-2003 <strong>of</strong> the year 2002-03.<br />
