iii) Announcement <strong>of</strong> vacancies on Doordarshan/<br />

All India Radio.<br />

iv) All major vacancies involving All India<br />

Competitive selection tests, circulated to all<br />

accredited SC/ST Associations as prescribed<br />

under the relevant Government Directives.<br />

v) Intimation <strong>of</strong> reserved vacancies to Director<br />

<strong>of</strong> Social Welfare Boards in States/Union<br />

Territories.<br />

vi) Award <strong>of</strong> Annual Scholarship to SC/ST<br />

students pursuing Degree/Diploma in<br />

Engineering courses.<br />

vii) NTPC Gold medal award with XISS, Ranchi<br />

for one student each topping the merit list <strong>of</strong><br />

SC/ST candidates in Personnel Management<br />

course and Rural Development course.<br />

viii) NTPC has also decided to institute gold<br />

medals with Xavier Institute <strong>of</strong> Management,<br />

Bhubaneswar for one student each topping<br />

the merit list <strong>of</strong> SC/ST candidates in<br />

Personnel Management course and Rural<br />

Development course.<br />

Detail <strong>of</strong> Reserved category employees<br />

With a view to increase the awareness <strong>of</strong><br />

employees dealing with reservation aspects at<br />

various Projects in the Company and to ensure<br />

better compliance and the implementation <strong>of</strong><br />

various directives <strong>of</strong> the Government, Liaison<br />

Officers for SC/ST have been nominated at each<br />

project/RHQ with assigning the responsibilities<br />

<strong>of</strong> handling grievances for SC/ST employees.<br />

They have been advised to spare one day in a<br />

week to hear in person the grievances <strong>of</strong> SC/ST<br />

employees and to take suitable steps<br />

immediately for redressal <strong>of</strong> the same. A<br />

grievance register is also to be maintained.<br />

All Projects/<strong>of</strong>fices <strong>of</strong> NTPC have been advised<br />

to nominate SC/ST employee for training in each<br />

programme. Pre-promotion training to these<br />

employees arranged with a view to enhance their<br />

competency and better performance in the<br />

interview. Awareness programme are organized<br />

at each project/RHQ at least once in a year so<br />

that they may acquire knowledge about the<br />

reservation matters.<br />

Annual conference <strong>of</strong> Liaison Officers is<br />

organized every year to make them aware with<br />

latest development in reservation policy so as<br />

to ensure implementation <strong>of</strong> the same properly.<br />

Appropriate infrastructural assistance in<br />

organizing Ambedkar Jyanti is provided.<br />

(*) Includes employees Recruited in POWERGRID since date <strong>of</strong> inception i.e. October, 1989 and<br />

employees Transferred and Absorbed in POWERGRID from various constituent organizations viz. NTPC,<br />

NHPC, THDC, NEEPCO, CEA, NLC etc. POWERGRID had no control to ensure representation <strong>of</strong><br />

percentage prescribed for SC, ST & OBC persons in the said mass transfer. However POWERGRID has<br />

made all efforts to maintain the percentage reservations in recruitments since its inception .In the<br />

recruitment <strong>of</strong> Executive Engineer (Trainees) - (EET) in Group ‘A’ posts during the year 2003, due<br />

consideration has been given to this aspect. The detail <strong>of</strong> such 83 EETs recruited including backlog and<br />

current vacancies is as follows:<br />
