9 • Troubleshooting Getting Help There may be times when you need help to solve a prob lem, or you may want more in for ma tion about how your mail ing system works. Phone Support Technical support is available from the Pitney Bowes Call Centre. Before You Call... Please read the troubleshooting information in this chap ter. In many cases, it can help you resolve the prob lem. You can often restore normal operation by rebooting your system. If you need help... If you need to call, please have the following in for ma tion at hand: • Product Model: P7EC. • Serial number: See the back of the system. • Nature of problem: What happens and when does it happen? Power Problems (nothing displays) SV61195 Rev. B 9 • Troubleshooting 1. Is power cord plugged into both the system and wall outlet? Make sure the power cord is not connected to a switched wall outlet. 2. Check power lamp on the system. 3. <strong>System</strong> may be in sleep mode. Press any key to wake it. Feeding Problems Clearing a stalled envelope 1. Move transport lever to the "released" position (up and down). 2. Carefully pull envelope out from right. 3. Make sure deck is clear of pa per frag ments. 4. Move transport release lever to the "home" position (sideways). To avoid stalled envelopes 1. Make sure your envelopes meet our published spec i fi ca tions. See Chapter 1, Introduction. 2. Feed envelopes correctly. See the instructions in Chapter 3, Running Mail. Don't try to feed oversize envelopes through the system. Use tape strips instead. 9-3
