5. Key in the postage correction using appropriate decimal places
(in the example above, the value must be between $0.01 and
$0.50) and select "OK".
6. At the Services amount confirmation screen, select "Done". A
screen displays with the amount of correction (the example used
in these steps is shown below):
◄CLASS: Postage Corr
◄SCALE: x g
Must be a non-zero
7. Take mail piece off of scale and run the mail piece through the
system so the that indicia prints on the upper right hand corner
of the back side of the envelope (opposite of where initial indicia
is printed). Alternatively, you can use a tape sheet to print the
correction indicia and place it to the left of the original indicia (for
parcels) or as instructed above for letters.
NOTE: If the meter printed a zero postage indicia ($0.00)
instead of the intended postage correction, it means you
accidentally keyed in a postage amount outside the range
displayed in step 4. If this happens, simply redo this procedure
but ensure that you are keying in a value within the range
displayed. Also, this time use a tape sheet to print the postage
correction.
Once you have printed the proper postage correction amount,
place the tape sheet to the left of the original impression (if room
provides) or affix the tape sheet in the upper right hand corner
of the other side of the mail piece.
