7 • <strong>System</strong> Options<br />

Phone Parameters<br />

This menu option allows you to modify the phone con nec tion settings on<br />

your machine (tone or pulse, dial prefix, etc.).<br />

Selecting Tone/Pulse<br />

Use this to tell the system whether your have a tone or pulse type phone.<br />

1. Press Options.<br />

2. Press Page Down twice.<br />

3. Select "Connect-Data Centre".<br />

4. Select "Phone Parameters".<br />

5. Select "Tone/Pulse". The current type (Tone or Pulse) is displayed.<br />

6. You are prompted to change the setting. Either select the other<br />

type on the screen, or press Clear (back arrow key) to leave the<br />

current setting. You return to the Phone Parameters menu.<br />

7. Press Clear (back arrow key) to return to Data Centre menu.<br />

Entering the Dial Prefix<br />

Use this if you need to dial a prefix number (like 9) to get an out side<br />

line on your phone line.<br />

1. Press Options.<br />

2. Press Page Down twice.<br />

3. Select "Connect-Data Centre".<br />

4. Select "Phone Parameters".<br />

5. Select "Dialing Prefix".<br />

6. The current prefix (if any displays). If you need to change it, key<br />

in the prefix number you want (such as a "9") and select "OK";<br />

otherwise, select "Continue" to keep the current prefix. You<br />

return to the Phone Parameters menu.<br />

7. Press Clear (back arrow key) to return to Data Centre menu.<br />
