NOTE: If the parcel is too heavy for the scale (greater than 2500 grams), a "Weight Over Capacity" message displays. Remove the parcel and obtain the correct weight for this parcel from another source. Then: A. Press Weigh/Rate and select "Enter manual weight". B. Key in the correct weight (you may change how you enter the weight between kg or g) and select “Continue”. NOTE: You cannot enter a value higher than 30,000 grams (30 kg). Place the parcel (or tape sheet if parcel is too big for machine) up against the registration wall of the sys tem and slide it to the right until the sys tem grasps it. The internal rating feature calculates the total postage based on the weight and the class/options selected and displays it on the screen (an example is shown below): NOTE: If the rating of the parcel results in a postage value greater than $99.99, the system displays "<strong>Postage</strong> Too High" (this may happen when rating a very heavy parcel using some international rates). B 3 • Running Mail Processing a Parcel Without Parcel Rating Module This procedure is used for processing Parcels (those mail pieces weighing over 500 grams or those mail pieces whose dimensions are too large to qualify as Lettermail) if you did not purchase the optional Parcel Rating module. You need to know the weight and appropriate postage value for the parcel you wish to process. If you need help determining if a mail piece should be rated as a Parcel or Lettermail, or need to obtain the fees associated with shipping parcels, contact your local Canada Post retail location or log on to www.canadapost.ca. 1. At the Home screen, select "CLASS" or "Select a class" (depending on your machine settings). 2. Select "Other payment", then press Page Down and select "Other Items". x g ◄Canpost ◄Other Payment 3. The system displays a series of selectable postage value ranges that you can access. Select "3.50 to 99.99" (this is the range applicable for entering postage manually for parcels).
