Numerous bivariate associati<strong>on</strong>s were investigated. However, major associati<strong>on</strong>s<br />

that were assessed included the relati<strong>on</strong>ship between 25(OH)D c<strong>on</strong>centrati<strong>on</strong>s and<br />

prenatal factors, 25(OH)D status and the presence <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> enamel hypoplasia, 25(OH)D and<br />

ECC, correlati<strong>on</strong>s between the serum c<strong>on</strong>centrati<strong>on</strong>s <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 25(OH)D, total calcium,<br />

inorganic phosphorus, and alkaline phosphatase, and the relati<strong>on</strong>ship between enamel<br />

hypoplasia and ECC. In order to investigate the relati<strong>on</strong>ship between 25(OH)D and<br />

enamel hypoplasia several tests were employed. For instance, t tests were used to<br />

compare the 25(OH)D levels <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> mothers and the presence or absence <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> enamel<br />

hypoplasia. Chi Square testing was used to compare the presence or absence <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 25(OH)D<br />

deficiency with enamel hypoplasia (dichotomous). As both the variables for enamel<br />

hypoplasia and ECC were categorical, Chi Square analysis was used to investigate the<br />
