The remainder <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> this chapter examines the published literature <strong>on</strong> the<br />

relati<strong>on</strong>ship between vitamin D and oral health in humans. While it is not an exhaustive<br />

systematic review it presents informati<strong>on</strong> to substantiate the role <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> vitamin D in the<br />

maintenance <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> good oral health in children and adults. Literature was identified through<br />

a search <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Medline electr<strong>on</strong>ic database using key terms <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> ‘vitamin D’ and ‘oral<br />
