Anthony <strong>Salz</strong>, <strong>Review</strong>er<br />
Anthony <strong>Salz</strong> is Executive Vice Chairman of Rothschild. Mr <strong>Salz</strong> joined Rothschild in<br />
2006, after more than 30 years as a corporate lawyer with the international firm Freshfields<br />
Bruckhaus Deringer, the last 10 years as the senior partner.<br />
Among various roles, Mr <strong>Salz</strong> is a Trustee of the Tate Foundation, the Eden Project,<br />
the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, the Scott Trust, Reprieve and the Royal Opera House.<br />
He was for some years a member of Business in the Community's Business Action on<br />
Homelessness Executive Forum and a member of its Education Leadership team. He was<br />
Vice Chairman of the BBC Board of Governors between 2004 and 2006 and the lead Non-<br />
Executive member of the Board of the Department for Education from 2010 to December<br />
2012. He chaired the Independent Commission on Youth Crime and Antisocial Behaviour<br />
in England and Wales, which reported in 2010. He also chaired two review groups on press<br />
self-regulation on behalf of the Media Standards Trust (on which Board he sits), which<br />
published reports and recommendations in 2009 and in June 2012.<br />
Russell Collins, Deputy <strong>Review</strong>er<br />
Russell Collins is a qualified chartered accountant with over 30 years of audit,<br />
governance and regulatory advisory experience in the financial services sector.<br />
He was, until 31 May 2012, a Vice Chairman of Deloitte LLP, the UK professional services<br />
firm, and a member of both its Global Financial Services Management Board and its<br />
Centre for Regulatory Strategy. Previously, Russell had been Managing Partner for<br />
Financial Services for Deloitte in the UK and in Europe, Middle East and Africa for<br />
10 years.<br />
Russell was a member of the FSA's Financial Services Practitioner Panel for six years and<br />
was its Chairman in 2011-12. He was one of the accountants to the inquiry by the Board of<br />
Banking Supervision of the Bank of England into the collapse of Barings. More recently he<br />
advised the FSA as it developed some aspects of its more intensive regulatory environment<br />
following the financial crisis.<br />
Russell has previously been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in<br />
England and Wales’ (ICAEW) Financial Services and Banking sub-committees, and has<br />
represented the ICAEW on the European Banks’ Working Party.<br />
