Maxis Mail – Maxis Mail provides all the
benefits of a personalised corporate email
service. It comes complete with Push
Mail services, so you receive your emails
on your mobile device automatically
with no delays. As it is hosted on our
Microsoft Exchange server, there are no
maintenance and upgrade hassles for the
customers.
Wholesale/Network Sharing
U Mobile Agreement
On 21 October 2011, Maxis Broadband
and U Mobile entered into an agreement
to share the Company’s 3G radio access
networks (RAN), making the partnership
the first active 3G RAN sharing
arrangement to be deployed in Malaysia.
The agreement will be for an initial
period of 10 years and will encompass
LTE sharing when the spectrum becomes
available.
This collaboration allows the sharing of
active telecommunication systems and
operating frequency spectrum and goes
beyond the existing physical (passive)
infrastructure sharing which has been
practised for a long time between
operators in the industry. It gives Maxis
a new revenue source while enhancing
utilisation of its network in areas that are
currently underutilised.
MVNO Partners
Hosting MVNOs and selling access to the
Company’s network on a wholesale level
are additional channels to reach customers.
For instance, the Company’s reseller
partner IMEtel (formerly known as OKTel)
addresses the migrant segments from India,
Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan.
Salamfone Sdn Bhd is the Company’s
latest MVNO partner targeting the
Muslim population mainly in the East
Coast and northern states of Malaysia.
Salamfone was officially launched on
6 April 2011 during the World Halal
Research Summit.
Maxis will continue to work with
resellers and MVNO partners with
specific competencies that complement
Maxis to improve the Company’s
share in segments and regions with
low penetration (e.g. migrants, priceconscious,
East Coast, northern states,
Sabah and Sarawak).
ENTERPRISE FIXED SERVICES
Maxis has operated fixed services since
January 1996. The enterprise fixed
services include a full suite of voice,
data and broadband services for various
business segments including SME,
corporate, government and wholesale.
Maxis has the ability to roll out fixed
services to enterprise customers
nationwide. In September 2011, Maxis
launched its Business Fibre product which
leverages the HSBA agreement with
Telekom Malaysia as well as our ownbuilt
fibre network.
