Maxis International derives revenues
from outgoing international calls
made by the Company’s customers in
Malaysia and from settlements from
overseas telecommunications operators
for incoming calls which use the
Company’s facilities. Maxis International
in turn, incurs costs to overseas
telecommunications operators for the use
of its facilities when outgoing calls are
made from Malaysia.
HOME SERVICES
Maxis Home is a full suite of integrated
services including high-speed internet via
fibre, wireless and fixed wireless access,
voice, as well as value-added services
and content. Maxis has launched HSPA
or 3.5G services for large-scale wireless
residential areas. In addition, Maxis
also provides ADSL services, for both
residential as well as business users.
On 14 December 2010, Maxis
Broadband signed an agreement
with Telekom Malaysia to accelerate
broadband penetration across the
country. With this in place, Maxis will
be able to provide bundled services
integrating IP-based offerings to more
than 1.3 million homes by 2012. The
signing of the service pact gives Maxis
last-mile access to homes covered by
the national HSBB project, to add to its
existing 10,000 km of optic fibre and
over 7,000 mobile base station sites.
Home Fibre Internet – The current
service offers a comprehensive
communication solution for homes in the
Klang Valley, Johor Bahru and Penang.
This includes reliable and consistent highspeed
internet access, a voice service and
soon entertainment services.
Current packages provide a selection of
internet access speeds with generous
usage quotas, bundled free minutes (to
Maxis fixed line, Maxis mobile and IDD),
additional free minutes on Maxis postpaid
mobile, free access to Maxis OneMusic
for unlimited music and video downloads
and internet security software. The starter
pack also includes free installation and
devices, a network termination unit
(NTU), WiFi router and a DECT phone.
Home Wireless Internet – Customers
can also subscribe to our home wireless
internet service which provides internet
access and voice solutions over our 3G/
HSPA network.
Current packages offer internet access
with a selection of quotas and bundled
free minutes for calls to all networks.
Customers can extend their quota by
purchasing additional units. A powered
wireless modem for better indoor
reception than dongles and a DECT
phone come free with the subscription.
Home Wired Internet – In selected
areas in the Klang Valley, Nilai,
Seremban, Ipoh and Johor Bahru
where we have fixed line coverage,
we also offer ADSL broadband
and fixed line telephony services.
Current packages offer competitively
priced ADSL broadband at speeds up to
2 Mbps and some bundle in free Maxis
wireless broadband and Maxis OneMusic
for unlimited music and video downloads.
In addition, these customers can add
fixed line telephony which provides
local, national, mobile and international
calling. A range of call management
services is available that allows for caller
line identification presentation (CLIP),
voicemail, call waiting, call forwarding,
three-way calling and call barring.
In addition, Maxis also entered into an
agreement with Tenaga National Berhad
to provide the Company with last-mile
access to households and base stations
over outdoor electric poles across
its nationwide power infrastructure.
Maxis has itself rolled out FTTH to key
properties and multi-dwelling units.
