Disconto-G esellschaft<br />

For the year:t 925 the Disconto-Gesellschafe o<br />

~eclared a dividend of TO per cent. This was the rat~<br />

for 1924 also. The net profit was "moderate," counted<br />

at 10,667,000 M, somewhat lower than that for 1924<br />

(namely, 10,772,000 M). For 1913 the figure was<br />

25,727,000 M.<br />

Bills of exchange and interest yielded 25,203,000<br />

Marks in the place of 25,804,000 M -of 1924. Stocks<br />

and securities accounted for 1,766,000 M against<br />

4,918,000 M of 1924 and "pl'ovisi6ns" (commission)<br />

brought 24,799,000 M compared to 30,827,000 M in<br />

1924.<br />

The Disconto-Gesellschaft possessed the total share:>­<br />

~apital of the Nord-I?euts·ehe Bank and the Schaffhausen<br />

.Bank. The profits of these two institutions brought to<br />

the D.G. the sum of 1·2 million M, a huge fall from the<br />

2·5 million M of 1924.<br />

There were several other banks and credit institutions<br />

in which the D.G. was a permanent and prominent<br />

shareholder. Out of the proceeds from these sources the<br />

p.G. obtained 2,305,000 M, a phenomenal rise from the<br />

0,324,000 M of 1924.<br />

Correspon,ding to the fall in: the incomes there was<br />

a fall in the total expenses of administration. From<br />

49,483,000 M of 1924 the figure came down to<br />

42,498,000 M in ,1925. The sinking of expenses was<br />

accounted for also by the leduction in profit-sharing as<br />
