Insurance Companies
(as embodied in the Economio Legislation of tbe Continent)
I. Germany
There are twelve foreign countries carrying on In­
$urance business in Germany. In 1930 the number of
foreign insurance companies of all sorts was 97 1
distributed according to nationality as follows:
I. Great Britain 38 7. Sweden 4
2. Switzerland 18 8. Danzig 4
3 .• Austria 8 9. Italy 2
4. Denmark 8 10. Jugoslavia 1
5. Holland 7 II. Czechoslovakia
6. United States 5 12. Hungary 1
This is a small number when one considers that the
total number of insurance companies operating in Germany
is near about 1500. As is naturally to be expected,
the indigenous companies are preponderant in the German
Insurance world.
