Jugoslavia, Rumania, Bulgaria or Greece can stand com~<br />

parison with the Central Bank of India. Of those "Bal~<br />

kan" institutions which can be regarded as the nearest<br />

in dimensions to the C.B.1. the Bank Kredytowy of War~<br />

saw is under the control of France through the Banque des<br />

Pays de l' Europe Centrale of Paris, and the Banque<br />

Commerciale de Grece under that of England through the<br />

Commercial Bank of the Near East, while the Jugoslavian<br />

Un.ion Bank of Ag!am is c;ontrolled not only by a great<br />

power, e.g. England, through the Anglo~lnternational<br />

Bank but also by Austria, Hungary and others. as we have<br />

observed in a previous connection.
