Possible Indicators of Failure to Thrive (Non-organic)<br />
• Significant lack of growth<br />
• Weight loss<br />
• Hair loss<br />
• Poor skin and muscle tone<br />
• Circulatory disorders<br />
• Failure to engage with medical services<br />
As already stated, it is important that all the above possible indicators of abuse are<br />
looked at in the context of the individual child and his/her family. A comprehensive<br />
multi-disciplinary assessment should be carried out which gives the child the<br />
opportunity to express his/her views.<br />
