Manager (<strong>Child</strong>ren and Families) immediately. The Service Unit<br />
Manager (<strong>Child</strong>ren and Families) must immediately contact the<br />
Social work Department responsible for the new address to alert that<br />
department to the arrival of a registered child/ren in its area. Initial<br />
contact should be made by telephone followed by confirmation in<br />
writing of the interim arrangements for the management of the case.<br />
All relevant information should then immediately be sent by recorded<br />
delivery.<br />

If a child is subject to compulsory measures of supervision through<br />
the <strong>Child</strong>ren’s Hearing systemthe Authority Reporter for <strong>East</strong><br />
<strong>Ayrshire</strong> <strong>Council</strong> must also be immediately notified both verbally and<br />
in writing by the Team Leader with responsibility for the management<br />
of the case/or equivalent.<br />
The Service Unit Manager (<strong>Child</strong>ren and Families) or their nominated<br />
substitute will ensure that the change of address is amended on the<br />
<strong>East</strong> <strong>Ayrshire</strong> Register and the Central <strong>Child</strong> <strong>Protection</strong> Register<br />
(held by the West of Scotland Standby Service) pending formal<br />
transfer of the case.<br />
The Service Unit Manager (<strong>Child</strong>ren and Families)will ensure that<br />
appropriate staff will attend any transfer Case Conference to which<br />
they are invited.<br />
The Service Unit Manager (<strong>Child</strong>ren and Families) or nominated<br />
substitute for the <strong>East</strong> <strong>Ayrshire</strong> Register will be responsible for<br />
initiating and chairing a transfer <strong>Child</strong> <strong>Protection</strong> Case Conference<br />
with professionals from the area where the child now resides, to<br />
ensure that they are fully informed of the present circumstances and<br />
that the <strong>Child</strong> <strong>Protection</strong> Plan is reviewed and if necessary a new one<br />
formulated to take account of the new circumstances.<br />
The Service Unit Manager (<strong>Child</strong>ren and Families) will also clarify<br />
with the appropriate personnel in the receiving authority that all the<br />
relevant information and paperwork has been made available to<br />
them.<br />
This transfer Case Conference must be held within fourteen working<br />
days of the family moving or within seven working days if there is a<br />
dispute regarding whose responsibility it is to manage the case until<br />
the case has been officially transferred.<br />
Following the <strong>Child</strong> <strong>Protection</strong> Transfer Case Conference in the new<br />
area, the child’s name will be removed from the Register of the area<br />
of origin and added to the register of the area where the child<br />
currently resides.<br />
