AM: OK, if we could just start if you could please tell me the remit of your organisation<br />

<strong>and</strong> your role with<strong>in</strong> it.<br />

CG: Sure, Um Stonewall is the national gay <strong>and</strong> lesbian lobby<strong>in</strong>g organisation so we<br />

work to ensure that lesbian, gay <strong>and</strong> bisexual people across Brita<strong>in</strong> have um the same<br />

rights as everybody else throughout Brita<strong>in</strong>. Ur we work <strong>in</strong> various ways, we work ur<br />

with the Government <strong>in</strong> terms of lobby<strong>in</strong>g Parliament, we work with the House of<br />

Commons, the House of Lords ur <strong>and</strong> MPs to ensure that legislation that goes through um<br />

ensures equality for lesbian gay <strong>and</strong> bisexual people <strong>and</strong> we also um <strong>in</strong>fluence ur policy<br />

at a local <strong>and</strong> national level ur <strong>and</strong> um, so we work with departments like DWP,<br />

department of health, department of children, schools <strong>and</strong> families um <strong>and</strong> we also work<br />

to try <strong>and</strong> change hearts <strong>and</strong> m<strong>in</strong>ds as well, so we try to br<strong>in</strong>g about a shift <strong>in</strong> cultural<br />

attitudes…<br />

CG: Yeah big job! Um yes slowly but surely we hope we are gett<strong>in</strong>g there. Ur <strong>and</strong> I’m<br />

senior education officer um at Stonewall <strong>and</strong> I have responsibility for our Education for<br />

All campaign to tackle homophobia <strong>and</strong> homophobic bully<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Brita<strong>in</strong>’s schools.<br />

AM: Ok, great. So you probably know a lot about what’s happen<strong>in</strong>g at schools at the<br />

moment.<br />

CG: I hope so!
