History Month website with Ellie, which is stunn<strong>in</strong>g the work that she’s done, um <strong>and</strong><br />

other schools have done great stuff but then don’t want to be named which is k<strong>in</strong>d of<br />

frighten<strong>in</strong>g…<br />

AM: {yes}<br />

SS: …[//] given that the DCSF have now produced this guidance, <strong>and</strong> it is only guidance<br />

which is an outrage, um we’re meet<strong>in</strong>g with Brennan, well I’m not, im gonna send Tony<br />

cos I th<strong>in</strong>k I might just bite Brennan’s head off! Greif has affected my anger massivly.<br />

AM: Oh right I’m not surprised I can sympathise with that one.<br />

SS: Yes. Um so I th<strong>in</strong>k it’s probably better if Tony goes <strong>and</strong> you know it skills him up to<br />

deal with these situations…<br />

AM: {yes}<br />

SS: …cos normally I do it or Paul would have done it, so we’ve gotta start send<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

skills down. Um [//] so it’ll be <strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong>g to see if Balls is prepared to to to do the notch.<br />

But I am say<strong>in</strong>g you know the fifth year should be education, you should be up there <strong>and</strong><br />

proud, the crim<strong>in</strong>al Justice System has more than proved its worth around this issue…<br />

AM: {yeah}<br />

SS: …<strong>and</strong> you know it is your issue, if we don’t tackle homophobia <strong>and</strong> transphobia <strong>and</strong><br />

heteronormativty <strong>in</strong> schools you know the rest of the communities suffer forever.<br />

AM: Yep.<br />

SS: So, you know deal with it.<br />

AM: I th<strong>in</strong>k that leads us on very well, because that’s one of the ma<strong>in</strong> po<strong>in</strong>ts that I’m<br />

look<strong>in</strong>g at <strong>in</strong> my research that, I’ll be honest I wasn’t particularly that <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong><br />

education at first, at least I didn’t th<strong>in</strong>k I was…<br />

SS: {yeah}<br />

AM: …until I started th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g well what I <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong> do<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> it all came back to<br />

education, it’s the old education, education, education…<br />

SS: {yes}<br />

AM: …um <strong>and</strong> I realised as you just said if these issues aren’t addressed at that level then<br />

this…<br />

SS: {well its like racism}
