Real Estate & Property Management<br />

The mission <strong>of</strong> Real Estate & Property Management is to provide technical and pr<strong>of</strong>essional expertise in the negotiation <strong>of</strong> acquisitions for the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>St</strong>. Petersburg’s <strong>capital</strong> & neighborhood <strong>improvement</strong> projects, dispositions <strong>of</strong> surplus real estate, and leasing <strong>of</strong> various <strong>City</strong>-owned properties<br />

while managing each in a manner to maximize contributions to the economic and revenue base for the <strong>City</strong>, in addition to overseeing the design,<br />

construction, renovation, and maintenance <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong>‘s municipal <strong>of</strong>fice buildings (<strong>City</strong> Hall, <strong>City</strong> Hall Annex, Municipal Services Center (MSC), and<br />

MSC garage).<br />

Services Provided<br />

The Real Estate & Property Management Department provides the following real estate services:<br />

• Prepares contracts, monitors, and directs the appraisal, acquisition, and disposition <strong>of</strong> real estate, including but not limited to the negotiation,<br />

contract, and closing <strong>of</strong> real estate transactions for various <strong>City</strong> departments in accordance with <strong>City</strong> policy.<br />

• Prepares contracts, monitors, and manages the appraisal, acquisition, and disposition <strong>of</strong> <strong>City</strong>-owned real estates under Florida <strong>St</strong>atute 163.<br />

• Initiates, monitors, and directs payments for real estate related services, including but not limited to appraisals, real estate closings, demolitions,<br />

and environmental inspections.<br />

• Prepares leases, monitors and manages commercial and non-pr<strong>of</strong>it leases for <strong>City</strong>-owned properties, including but not limited to tenant contact,<br />

rent collection, and lease enforcement.<br />

• Provides real estate support and information services for all <strong>City</strong> departments including but not limited to valuation information, property maps,<br />

ownership information, <strong>of</strong>ficial records, including appraisals, deeds, mortgages, title and environmental reports, and survey and legal descriptions.<br />

The Municipal Office Buildings Fund provides the followings services:<br />

• Provides administrative direction to ensure proper management and maintenance <strong>of</strong> municipal <strong>of</strong>fice buildings including <strong>City</strong> Hall, <strong>City</strong> Hall Annex,<br />

MSC, and MSC garage.<br />
