7. Decontaminate your individual equipment using your individual equipment<br />

decontamination kit, as necessary.<br />

8. Notify your supervisor of any suspected CB hazard/attack.<br />

9. Continue the mission and per<strong>for</strong>m any additional requirements as outlined in<br />

your unit's standing operating procedure (SOP).<br />

Note:<br />

1. Use all means of CB detection to check your surrounding area <strong>for</strong> the presence of<br />

contamination.<br />

2. Contact your higher headquarters if you find contamination or if you determine that the<br />

attack was non-CB related.<br />

3. Await further guidance. The higher headquarters contacts all adjacent/attached units to<br />

check the status of CB contamination in their areas. All units will report the absence or<br />

presence of contamination to the chain of command.<br />

4. Annotate the above actions on your duty log (DA Form 1594, Daily Staff Journal or<br />

Duty Officer's Log).<br />

Evaluation Preparation: Setup: A good time to evaluate this task is<br />

during a field exercise when a variety of CB hazards can be simulated.<br />

Select a site with adequate cover, and ensure that Soldiers have their<br />

assigned protective mask.<br />

Brief Soldier: Tell the Soldier that there will be an encounter with<br />

simulated CB agents and/or a CB alarm will be given.<br />

Per<strong>for</strong>mance Measures GO NO GO<br />

1. Identified automatic-masking criteria. —— ——<br />

a. Stopped breathing.<br />

b. Put on mask with hood.<br />

c. Cleared mask.<br />

d. Checked mask.<br />

e. Did not fasten the hood.<br />

f. Went at once to the next step.<br />

2. Donned protective mask without fastening the hood<br />

within 9 seconds.<br />

a. Vocally.<br />
