If right and left turning traffic share the same lane the capacity
of the combined stream is given as follows :-

proportion of minor road traffic turning left.
(ii)
At some layouts the straight through major road stream C-A becomes
blocked when there is a queue of right turning vehicles C-B.
Substantial capacity limitations will arise only In those cases
where the residual width for through traffic is less than 2,5m. In
these cases Q is given by the equation :-
