5.4 Additional Speed Control Facilities
5.4.1 Definition
5.4.1.1 Additional speed control facilities may be regarded as devices used in addition to speed limit and
warning signs where it is regarded that approach speeds to a particular hazard are excessive,
though not necessarily above the speed limit in force, and warning signs alone are not considered
sufficient to bring to the attention of drivers the need to reduce their speed.
5.4.1.2 Additional speed control facilities may be in the form of a road marking or an actual physical
change to the road surface, or both.
