3.4. The Road in Cross Section<br />

3.4.1 Cross fall<br />

3.4.1.1 Except on curves where super elevation or elimination of adverse cross fall is required,<br />

carriageways should normally have a cross fall of 2.5% from the crown or central reserve<br />

downhill towards the side of the road.<br />

3.4.1.2 At the junction of a minor road with a major road the carriageway of the minor road should<br />

be graded into the channels of the major road, which should retain its normal cross-section<br />

throughout the junction.
