Electr<strong>on</strong>-microscopic studies testify that the filaments of different morphological types<br />

were <strong>for</strong>med from Py/H 2 and Py/Ar mixtures [2]. The filaments have a diameter from 30 to<br />

180 nm (Fig. 1). Intertwining in chaotic way, the thinner filaments <strong>for</strong>m fascicles of thicker<br />

fibers. In the samples prepared from Py/H 2 the diameter of such fibers reaches 0,5 μm.<br />

One should note, oligomers were <strong>for</strong>med as products of uncatalyzed reacti<strong>on</strong>s at hightemperature<br />

decompositi<strong>on</strong> of pyridine in the presence of Н 2 (Table). Their pyrolysis leads to<br />

<strong>for</strong>mati<strong>on</strong> of disordered carb<strong>on</strong>. This material accumulates in the structure of the growing<br />

fibers and decreases the values both<br />

V Σ and А BET and influences the<br />

surface N/C atomic ratio. Also it can<br />

block the active centers of catalyst,<br />

leading to its deactivati<strong>on</strong>.<br />

We have selected the<br />

temperature interval of Py<br />

decompositi<strong>on</strong> predominantly via the<br />

catalytic route. The close values of<br />

А BET , about 300+/-50 m 2 /g (Fig. 2),<br />

and TEM data show that mainly<br />

CFC is <strong>for</strong>med at 550-700 о С.<br />
