DRAFT RECOMMENDED STANDARD FOR SPACE LINK EXTENSION SERVICE MANAGEMENT
7 SERVICE AGREEMENT OPERATIONS
7.1 GENERAL
There is only one Service Agreement operation that can be invoked by UM:
– QUERY_SERVICE_AGREEMENT—to query the content of a Service Agreement that
resides at CM.
No Service Agreement operations can be invoked by CM.
The means and procedures for the creation of a Service Agreement are currently outside the
scope of this Recommended Standard.
No state machine is shown for the Service Agreement lifecycle, since there is no change of
state defined within this Recommended Standard. The QUERY_SERVICE_AGREEMENT
operation may be invoked at any time while the service agreement is active.
Subsection 7.3 below defines the QUERY_SERVICE_AGREEMENT operation.
7.2 OWNERSHIP OF SERVICE AGREEMENTS
Each Service Agreement is mutually owned by both UM and CM. No specific
sleSmCreatorName is associated with ownership of the Service Agreement, because no
operations exist for creation, modification, or deletion of a Service Agreement.
7.3 QUERY_SERVICE_AGREEMENT (QSA) OPERATION
7.3.1 PURPOSE
The QUERY_SERVICE_AGREEMENT (QSA) operation allows UM to query the CM for the
status of an existing Service Agreement.
7.3.2 PROCEDURE
The procedure for the QSA operation is a two-phase operation procedure, which follows the
two-phase operation procedure pattern specified in 3.4.1.2.
The QSA operation involves the exchange of the following messages:
– QueryServiceAgreementInvocation (QSA-I);
– QueryServiceAgreementSuccessfulReturn (QSA-SR);
– QueryServiceAgreementFailedReturn (QSA-FR).
