DRAFT RECOMMENDED STANDARD FOR SPACE LINK EXTENSION SERVICE MANAGEMENT<br />

2.2.3 SERVICE PACKAGE SERVICE<br />

2.2.3.1 General<br />

The SLE-SM <strong>Service</strong> Package service is used to request new contacts or modify or delete<br />

existing scheduled contacts.<br />

There are seven <strong>Service</strong> Package operations that CM can perform when invoked by UM:<br />

a) CREATE_SERVICE_PACKAGE (CSP)—to request CM to create a <strong>Service</strong> Package;<br />

NOTE – Creation of a <strong>Service</strong> Package implies that resources to support all scenarios<br />

contained within that package have been committed by the SLE Complex.<br />

b) REPLACE_SERVICE_PACKAGE (RSP)—to replace parameters or references in an<br />

existing <strong>Service</strong> Package at CM;<br />

c) DELETE_SERVICE_PACKAGE (DSP)—to delete a <strong>Service</strong> Package that resides at<br />

CM;<br />

d) QUERY_SERVICE_PACKAGE (QSP)—to query the content of an existing <strong>Service</strong><br />

Package;<br />

e) SELECT_ALTERNATE_SCENARIO (SAS)—to select an alternate <strong>Service</strong> Scenario<br />

of an existing <strong>Service</strong> Package at CM to be the scenario to be used before or during<br />

the execution of the <strong>Service</strong> Package;<br />

f) APPLY_NEW_TRAJECTORY (ANT)—to apply a new Trajectory Prediction to an<br />

existing <strong>Service</strong> Package at CM.<br />

g) APPLY_NEW_SPACE_LINK_EVENTS_PROFILE (ANSLEP)—to apply a new<br />

<strong>Space</strong> <strong>Link</strong> Events Profile to an existing <strong>Service</strong> Package at CM.<br />

There are two <strong>Service</strong> Package operations that CM can perform autonomously and notify<br />

UM:<br />

a) SERVICE_PACKAGE_CANCELLED (SPC)—to cancel an existing <strong>Service</strong> Package<br />

that is no longer supportable by the SLE Complex;<br />

b) SERVICE_PACKAGE_MODIFIED (SPM)—to modify an existing <strong>Service</strong> Package<br />

because of a change in conditions in the SLE Complex that makes the <strong>Service</strong><br />

Package supportable only if modifications are applied.<br />

There is one <strong>Service</strong> Package operation that UM can perform when invoked by CM:<br />

c) CONFIRM_TENTATIVE_SERVICE_PACKAGE (CTSP)—to confirm acceptance of<br />

a <strong>Service</strong> Package proposed as a result of rule-based scheduling by CM. Proposing a<br />

<strong>Service</strong> Package implies either (1) that resources to support the scenario contained<br />

within that package have been committed by the SLE Complex, or (2) that such<br />

<strong>CCSDS</strong> 910.11-R-2 Page 2-6 March 2008
