Placing Seals Between Frames
Newton’s rings (a radial interference pattern) may appear when you scan film that has been bent out of
shape or otherwise distorted. When scanning film that has been folded or twisted, attach seals to the
emulsion surface of the film between all frames but the first and second, and then place the film on the
masking sheet emulsion side down (shiny surface up). Seals can be reused.
