Using Nikon Scan This example illustrates how to scan 35-mm film using the FH-835S film holder. Using Nikon scan for the First Time The first time you run Nikon Scan, the status LED will emit five series of rapid blinks (each of about three seconds duration) when you first insert holder with the scanner on or if you start Nikon Scan for the first time with the scanner on and a holder in place. This does not indicate an error. Do not eject the holder. If you ejected the holder while the status LED was blinking, turn the scanner off and then on again and restart Nikon Scan. 62
1 2 Choose the type of film to be scanned from the Nikon Scan media-type menu. Choose a color model from the colormodel menu. Calibrated RGB is the best choice in most circumstances. The Grayscale option is for use when scanning black-and-white (monochrome) film, while CMYK is intended for professionals who wish to create a file ready for printing on an industrial four-color printer.
