Caring for Your Scanner<br />

Storing the Scanner<br />

When not using the scanner, turn it off, remove any holders from the scanner, and slide the<br />

cover closed as shown below.<br />

If you will not be using the scanner for an extended period, turn off and unplug the scanner.<br />

Store the scanner where:<br />

• the temperature is between minus twenty and plus sixty degrees Centigrade (–4°F – +140°F)<br />

• the humidity is between twenty and ninety percent (no condensation)<br />

Servicing Your Scanner<br />

Your scanner is a precision machine. We recommend that you take the scanner and holders to an authorized<br />

<strong>Nikon</strong> service representative once every one to two years for inspection, and once every three to five<br />

years for servicing (a fee is charged for these services). Frequent inspection and servicing are particularly<br />

recommended in the case of scanners used in commercial applications.<br />

Caution<br />

When not using the scanner, close the cover to prevent the accumulation of dust inside the device.
