<strong>Floyd</strong> <strong>County</strong>, <strong>Indiana</strong><strong>Floyd</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Thoroughfare</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>Section 2–Needs IdentificationThe future no-build scenario for the US 150/Old Vincennes/Paoli Pike study area includethe planned addition <strong>of</strong> a two-way left-turn lane from the end <strong>of</strong> the four-lane portion <strong>of</strong> US150 to the county line. Old Vincennes Road was also be widened to two eleven foot laneswith five foot wide paved shoulders from Luther Road to the east. The final plannedimprovement that is included in the future no-build operations is the signalization <strong>of</strong> US 150and Edwardsville-Galena Road. Even with these improvements the general trends seen inthe existing condition simulation are apparent in the future no-build simulation as well. Allthe stop controlled intersections along US 150 operate at LOS F during both peak periods.This is due to the very high volumes along US 150 that make it almost impossible to mergeinto the traffic steam from the side roads. In the afternoon the intersection <strong>of</strong> US 150 andLawrence Banet Road also operates at a LOS F due to the larger volumes <strong>of</strong> commutertraffic combined with the large volumes <strong>of</strong> people using the Highlander Point commercialdevelopment. Paoli Pike continues to operate at a generally acceptable LOS in the futureno-build scenario.Table 2.05-4 shows selected queue length simulation results in the US 150 corridor fromfuture no-build Synchro modeling.
