Old Vincennes Road and Duffy RoadTraffic operations at Old Vincennes Road and Duffy Road are currently failing duringthe PM peak-hour. In the afternoon the north approach on Duffy Road operates atLOS F. Choosing not to perform any capacity expansion, the intersection willcontinue to perform poorly. In 2030, the intersection will operate at LOS E in the AMpeak-hour and LOS F in the PM peak hour with both the north and southapproaches on Duffy Road failing.Improvements to this intersection should be deemed a priority. The intersection ofOld Vincennes Road and Duffy Road is only 250 feet west of the intersection ofUS 150 and Lawrence Banet Road. Because of this close spacing, this intersectionshould be converted to a right-in right-out intersection. This is necessary to improveoverall operations at bothintersections. To allow forthis change, an accessroad should beconstructed from DuffyRoad south of OldVincennes Road to theintersection of OldVincennes Road andSchreiber Road. As part ofthis improvement, theintersection of OldVincennes Road andSchreiber Road should besignalized.Operations modelingindicates that withforecasted AM and PMpeak-hour volumes theintersection configurationshown in Figure 4.01-12operates at LOS B duringboth peak hours.
