Intersection operation continue to deteriorate and produce longqueues and delays in both 2030 peak hours with only the planned expansion.As part of this alternative the traffic signal at this intersection is removed andthe intersection is converted to an unsignalized intersection. I-64 eastboundoff-ramp traffic is required to yield at this intersection. SR 62 will require andadditional through lane in each direction. Northbound SR 62 will require anadditional right-turn bay. To accommodate the additional turn lanes, two laneswill be required on the on-ramp for at least 800 feet..Operations modeling indicates that with forecasted AM and PM peak-hourvolumes, the intersection configuration shown in Figure 4.01-34 operates atLOS A during the AM peak-hour and LOS B during the PM peak-hour.
