Intersection operation continue to deteriorate and produce longqueues and delays in both 2030 peak hours with only the planned expansion.As part <strong>of</strong> this alternative the traffic signal at this intersection is removed andthe intersection is converted to an unsignalized intersection. I-64 eastbound<strong>of</strong>f-ramp traffic is required to yield at this intersection. SR 62 will require andadditional through lane in each direction. Northbound SR 62 will require anadditional right-turn bay. To accommodate the additional turn lanes, two laneswill be required on the on-ramp for at least 800 feet..Operations modeling indicates that with forecasted AM and PM peak-hourvolumes, the intersection configuration shown in Figure 4.01-34 operates atLOS A during the AM peak-hour and LOS B during the PM peak-hour.
