INDIVIDUAL, GROUP AND SOCIETYarithmetic division of power between men <strong>and</strong> women but also as aprogramme for the civic intervention of organizations, groups, etc. Theconcept of Parity supports the formulation of new rights for which moreconsistent argumentation is provided <strong>and</strong> proposes a new paradigm tostructure society. Parity is, thus, an operative concept for a real structuralremoval. In fact, it offers society as a whole, mean <strong>and</strong> women, whatwe could call a “removal” social ideology, <strong>and</strong> this is currently a majorcontribution of parity.We will not be able to advance towards a democracy characterisedby participation on the basis of an untruthful interpretation of reality;the human being is not an abstraction: individuals are either male orfemale, men or women. The working class is dual, mankind can onlybe fully represented by the pair, <strong>and</strong> our re-description of democraticsystems <strong>and</strong> the construction of an active democracy have to be basedon this undeniable evidence.Access to knowledge <strong>and</strong> its development is becoming central tothis new construction. Knowledge is more than information. Nowadays,information is power; knowledge exchange is wealth that is sharedbecause it is cost-less. In front of the information avalanche (which wecannot process), critical judgement provides us with central guidelines orthemes to search for information, to be informed, to share knowledge<strong>and</strong> to develop the dialogue that will allow us to create a commonnon-st<strong>and</strong>ard way of thinking (“unique way of thinking”).Skills for the development of critical judgement become indispensable,<strong>and</strong> work on the following areas becomes an urgent priority:—The emergence of citizenship values such as justice, parity,participation, equity, dialogue.—Strategies for education on Values, case studies, role games,moral dilemmas...—The group formulation of judgements, bearing in mind the interestsof the community, which increments social responsibility.Civil society can become a Citizenship school if it implements actionswhich contribute to create awareness of the Power of Collective Action:—To promote the capacity to participate: learn <strong>and</strong> have access tocommunity resources, <strong>and</strong> create processes in which the capacityto decide <strong>and</strong> control can be exercised.—Stimulate the awareness of citizens, moving from delegation <strong>and</strong>dependence to new commitments <strong>and</strong> risks.—Foster bonds between community individuals <strong>and</strong> groups inorder to develop: effective communication, the recognition of
