INDIAINDIA:LAKSHADWEEPPOPULATION:Chelonla mydasNesting sites Green Turtles nest on Suheli Valialtara, Tinnakara,Bangaram, Suheli Cheriaklcara, Parali II and Pitti (Bhaskar, 1980 and198Ab). All these islands are uninhabited during the nesting season. Themajority of C. mydas nesting on Suheli Valiakara, a 1 lun by 300 m coralisland near the Lakshadweep capital of Kavaratti, use a 585 m beach situatedon the northern half of the island's eastern coast (Bhaslcar, 1980). Nestingis only sporadic on the inhabited islands, including Minicoy.
