Much of the worked tortoiseshell exportedhas gone to Japan, but the USA, Australia and, recently, Saudi Arabia havefeatured as major destinations.Taiwan is not a Party to CITES. CITES Annual Reports record fewtransactions in sea turtle products with Taiwan, and apart from a singleexport of 17 kg of oil from the Cayman Islands in 1985, all have involvedthe import of various mostly personal goods to the USA, totalling 151 itemsbetween 1977 and 1984.510
