<strong>User</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> Using the defibrillator 37Storing the <strong>Welch</strong> <strong>Allyn</strong> <strong>AED</strong> <strong>10</strong> for reuseAfter each use, the <strong>Welch</strong> <strong>Allyn</strong> <strong>AED</strong> <strong>10</strong> should be inspected and cleaned, with a newsupply of defibrillation pads restocked to prepare the unit for its next use. Any eventdocumentation should be retrieved from the internal log and printed.NoteWhen using the <strong>Welch</strong> <strong>Allyn</strong> <strong>AED</strong> <strong>10</strong> carrying case, store new defibrillation padsto ensure proper viewing of the system status indicator.During storage, the <strong>Welch</strong> <strong>Allyn</strong> <strong>AED</strong> <strong>10</strong> performs periodic self-tests including thefunctionality of the unit and the status of the battery and internal circuitry. A more detailedtest of defibrillator operation and battery status should be performed on a regular basis.See “Maintenance” on page 59 for more information.
